  • PHP4 Reaches EOL on 12-31-2007

    Today the PHP team announced that PHP4 will reach EOL on December 31st, 2007, and that after that, only critical security fixes on a case-by-case basis until August 8th, 2008.

  • PHP 5.2.3 Makefile Install Target Changes

    Surprise! New PHP version was released today for immediate download. But guess what? if you are one of the lucky non-Apache users using a source-based distro to get shafted by the different installation place of the cgi/fcgi binaries, do not alarm, and just update your HTTP daemon to utilize the new path.

  • Compiling on DreamHost

    For those of you who compile programs like PHP and it's dependencies, or other tools that one might need on DreamHost, I want to pass on this valuable bit of information I received from their support department after inquiring about a way to compile something when their process killer went berserk after the load got high enough.

  • PHP 5.2.0 Memory Leak

    Been meaning to post about this, but I just got off my arse and did it. I upgraded my PHP install in DreamHost from 5.1.6 to 5.2.0, because judging from the fixes list, it actually seemed like a gooed idea.
